Kind Words From Our
Happy Hearters
’’Thank you so much, Salli and all the Happy Hearters, for keeping us going these last grim months. We very much look forward to our HH sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays and actually enjoy the exercise (I never thought I’d say that!)"

"Really enjoying the Happy Hearts fitness classes on Zoom, Salli makes these classes interesting and fun, and she varies the classes to enable us to get the most out of them. I always find these stimulating, physically and mentally and look forward to them each week’’

"I was sent from my cardiologist to the NHS Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme after my angioplasty and then on to Happy Hearts. The rest is history and I haven’t looked back since. Since lock down there have been no venues to gather in and this is likely to be the case for some time yet. The Zoom classes have been just great and as much fun as they always have been and Salli puts our minds to work as well, because she comes up with different little routines to keep us (literally) on our toes. I have had a couple of friends who are in good health and have not had an ’’ incident’’ or anything physically wrong and who have joined Happy Hearts only because the classes are so much fun. I am so happy that I found Happy Hearts and Salli because it has kept me, and many others, as physically fit as we can be, given our health concerns. I would recommend Happy Hearts Zoom classes to anyone who wants to have fun getting and staying fit’’

’’ Thanks to you all for the fun and lots of laughs and for all you have done to make our lives so much richer over the past year. You have been our lifeline and our lives would have been so much duller and darker without you.’’

’’I was staying with my friend following her Angioplasty, she takes part in the Happy Hearts classes with Salli and she invited me to join in, which I did. I took part in two classes online and then attended a class in Shaftsbury...It was amazing, I was so impressed by the team and their care and attention to each and every person in attendance. It was so good to see so many people of all ages and abilities enjoying the work out highlighted by fab music. The atmosphere throughout class was fun, encouraging and above all exercise with a Defo Feel Good factor.
I live in Norfolk but will be signing up to an online class.’’

My journey with Happy Hearts
"I initially attended the Happy Hearts classes due to back, hips and balance issues. When I was unable to actively get involved with these, my Physio recommended Thai Chi classes. I was unable to stand unaided at this point; so without the ability to balance, these classes were not helping me at all".
"I spoke to Salli, who encouraged me back to Happy Hearts; and I couldn’t be happier. The class is wonderful; everyone is so positive, supportive and kind. It’s a happy place to go and I truly look forward to these weekly classes".
How have I improved?
"I started these classes seated; Salli has an amazing ability to manage the full class and make time to offer me seated alternatives. How she monitors and interacts with each of us is a marvel!
From being unable to stand or walk unaided; I am in a position where my back feels looser, my balance is much better, and my positive outlook is enormously improved. I can now do a slow circuit without a walking stick and return to my chair when I need it; giving me full control over my engagement in the class.
Last week Salli encouraged me to do a sassy catwalk in front of the class to demonstrate my new mobility! It felt so liberating; everyone was clapping and being so encouraging".
Salli & the class
"As a teacher Salli is brilliant at her job and she has a natural empathy and ability to treat us all as individuals. People who have suffered quite serious illnesses (such as heart operations, strokes, joint replacements) attend these classes; and everyone adores her. She makes it fun and exhilarating! Nigel is a great help with the music and joins in on the circuits to keep us encouraged".
"The members in the class make it extra special. People give hugs, pats on the back, physical and mental support. It’s a chance to openly discuss our ailments; providing an outlet and an ability to laugh".
"It is hard to find the right words to truly explain - you have to be in the class to experience just how wonderful it is".
